Q. What is the job description?

The Principal Consultant will manage and develop a dedicated team that reports to them. They will proactively assist the Directors in planning and developing the organization, and to support and develop a positive culture and business. The Principal Consultant implement the strategy for their region by developing existing and finding new business opportunities, and thereby support the Directors in growing all aspects of the business. The Principal Consultants are co-operative with colleagues across Zifo on a global scale and will act as a mentor to develop the commercial and delivery team members

Q. What are the job responsibilities?

  • Leadership and mentoring people – 10%
  • Planning and reporting – 10%
  • Customer and partner development and engagement - 50%
  • Organizational development – 30%

Strategic Customer Portfolio Development

  • Extensive knowledge of the Pharma – R&D, Manufacturing or Biotech domains
  • To evaluate Industry trends enable further growth for Zifo
  • Solid understanding of the current customer portfolio and scientific applications
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities within the customer base
  • Lead the development of accounts through the maturity model
  • Contribute to regional strategy and fiscal planning across the territory
  • Cooperation and communication with other Team Leads, Country Managers, GM Europe and our colleagues outside of Europe. Contribute to the Zifo culture and objectives.

New Business Development

  • Establish and manage the relationship with new customers within new markets and territories
  • Identify and develop new opportunities in existing and new accounts by promoting Zifo as a R&D solutions partner
  • Manage a long term strategy for growth in the UK and Other countries
  • Actively contribute towards the organizational targets
  • Be a part of a dynamic and exciting consulting organization
  • Set up new partnerships with software vendors
  • Bring innovation to our business. Identify ways we can improve and grow.

Q. What are the required skills?

  • Strong Written and Oral communication skills
  • Strong Business Development Skills
    • Good Technical understanding of Science applications e.g. LIMS, ELN or other scientific software
    • Proven account development experience with ability to build key strategic contacts
    • Background in a services organization with program management knowledge
    • Team player who can set and execute business development strategies
    • Fiscal awareness & strategy planning
  • Strong Program Management skills
    • Experience of understanding customer needs in order to produce proposals / SOW’s
    • Scope & Time Management & Vendor Management
    • Experience of CRM, Managing Forecast and Pipeline data
    • Working closely with Service delivery

Q. What is the required education/work experience?

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent in a scientific or health care field
  • Proven experience as a program manager or business development role preferably in the pharmaceutical /Life sciences industry
  • Strong experience in R&D Informatics systems such as LIMS, ELN, SDMS & Good understanding of developments in the scientific applications arena
